POSITION SUMMARY

Indiana Wesleyan University invites applications for a one-year, appointment as an adjunct faculty/ teaching fellow in literature and writing in its John Wesley Honors College (JWHC) to start in August 2021.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate should have a graduate background in English or a related field and should have a strong interest in participating in an interdisciplinary learning community devoted to Christian liberal learning.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate’s teaching load for the year will be 8 credit hours (fall) and 6 credit hours (spring) and consist of literature courses from a breadth of historical periods (Great Texts I and II), a composition course oriented around the theological imagination, and possibly a course in his or her area(s) of specialty. Depending on the successful candidate’s preferences, this position can either be for a semester (Fall 2021) or the full academic year (2021-22). Though not a full-time position, this role includes compensation for additional, non-teaching responsibilities.

 QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have an active and growing Christian faith, a commitment to serving in an intentional Christian community of liberal learning, and a self-reflective spirit of interdisciplinary collaboration. The JWHC will provide the requisite support to help nurture such pursuits.
