Job Summary:

The Information Systems Analyst determines requirements, coordinates, develops, enhances, modifies, and maintains software applications & integrations; leads ITS efforts in reporting, data analysis and work to support administration of institutional database management systems; gather and publish information on designated applications for end-users; receive and respond to trouble calls and technical questions regarding all institutional applications & integrations; work to support the administration of our enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems infrastructure; work in conjunction with current IT personnel on requirements and development strategy as it pertains to internal information systems development.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

•Write documentation for support of developed applications.
•Learn, use and assist others with the use of software tools related to all information systems.
•Offer end-user trainings, seminars and work one on one to assist in furthering the development and skills of users throughout the institution
•Participate in special projects as assigned
•May travel occasionally to conferences, workshops, or outreach areas for professional development
•May require being on call 24 hours per day

Education/Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

•Internet/intranet network systems
•Experience with Windows Server administration and management
•Database connectivity, access & implementation on Microsoft SQL Server based systems
•Experience with SQL and/or report writing on SQL-based systems
•IIS and Apache web servers
•Microsoft SharePoint Online & Office 365 familiarity
•Ellucian’s Colleague ERP (student information system)
•Learning Management System (LMS) support, development and design
•Effective communication skills with the ability to train others
•Analyze problems and develop solutions and recommendations
•Maintain software applications and stay current with software analyst skills
•Make decisions on software integrations, development and on-going maintenance
•Utilize various software development languages in order to maintain software and integrations
•Translate technical information into user-friendly program documentation

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

•Some work performed in confined spaces.
•May require working occasional evenings/weekend and being on call 24 hours per day

Experience:

•Two years’ experience designing, implementing and maintaining software applications
•Two years’ experience providing technical support to end users
•Two years’ experience developing & maintaining Microsoft technologies
•Two years’ experience documenting processes and training end users, preferred
•Two years’ experience managing Windows Server environments OR DBMS, preferred
