Job Summary
Columbus State University is currently accepting applications for a Senior Admissions Counselor in the Office of Admissions/Enrollment Management. The Senior Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting students to Columbus State University from an assigned territory to be determined by the Director of Admissions-Recruitment. The position will be based out of our main campus in Columbus, GA. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: visiting high schools, attending college fairs, and coordinating a variety of other recruitment and enrollment activities. In addition to the previously stated responsibilities, each Senior Admissions Counselor will be assigned one or more area(s) that they are responsible for coordinating alongside the Director of Admissions-Recruitment. The Senior Admissions Counselor will work directly with the Director of Admissions-Recruitment to determine methods and procedures for responsibilities on assignments.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

 

  • Overseeing the secure, efficient, and service-oriented aspects of the River Park Welcome Center's daily operations (e.g., opening and closing procedures; and overseeing the public-facing event space). Maintains a tidy, orderly, inviting and comfortable environment in the welcome center.
  • Assist new student recruitment by coordinating daily tours, group tours, and other activities as assigned by the Director of Admissions-Recruitment. If required, visit high schools and attend off-campus recruiting events.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Admissions-Recruitment and Assistant Director of Recruitment Operations development and editing event-related materials including the tour script, event packets, online registration forms, post-visit thank you card.
  • Perform admissions officer of the day duties.
  • Counsel and assist prospective students and parents via phone, email, and in person about CSU programs and enrollment process.
  • Create, manage, and deliver a wide variety of lists, databases, and reports for internal and external constituents (update, year to date, progress, yield, survey results, contacts, referrals, outcomes) of each recruiting function or event.
  • Develop and enhance new and existing process and systems to improve non-traditional enrollment operations and workflow.
  • Represent the university at select recruitment activities.
  • Collaborate to develop effective non-traditional marketing materials including print, web, video, and social media.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with various internal and external partners to support the enrollment of nontraditional students.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement strategic enrollment partnerships with members of the community and local industry.
  • Backup campus tour guide
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and a minimum of one year experience in a university admissions/recruitment office. The successful candidate must have experience using recruitment tools such as a CRM or similar; have flexibility and adaptability to the ever-changing “life” of an event; possess the ability to multitask and effectively problem-solve before, during, and after an event has been implemented; have outstanding verbal and written communication skills; the demonstrated ability to make presentations to large and small audiences; a service-oriented focus; possess a high level of initiative, project and time management, leadership, vision, and perspective; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; possess up-to-date knowledge of CSU's academic, recreational, social, and extracurricular programs and possess the ability to accurately communicate this information to prospective students and their families; work effectively with colleagues, prospective students, parents, high school counselors, alumni, and faculty members; the ability to work irregular hours, nights, and weekends; and a willingness to perform other duties as assigned. Candidate must provide their own vehicle, possess a valid driver's license, and be able to lift up to 40lbs.

Proposed Salary
The annualized salary for this position is $38,500 and includes full benefits.
