Job Description

The Senior Analyst reports to the Executive Director of Institutional Research and is responsible for compiling, analyzing, and transforming quantitative data into critical information that will support sound decisions within the College community. This includes but is not limited to the preparing complex data/reports/visualizations/dashboards to respond to standard, recurring reports as well as ad hoc internal and external requests.

The Senior Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and synthesizing College data into clear and concise written reports of College data as well as preparing and/or presenting these analyses to the CSN community.

The ideal candidate would possess:
  • Experience writing SQL queries in a SQL Server environment or equivalent.
  • Experience creating informative and effective reports and data visualizations.
  • Experience building data dashboards using Power BI or equivalent.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and synthesize complex data sets in both written and oral communications.
  • Experience with Oracle Campus Solutions, esp. MyCSN.
  • General knowledge and experience with database management, ETL processing, data structures and data governance principles.
  • Knowledge of general operations and policies of a public institution of higher education.
  • Ability to independently prioritize, plan and organize projects, tasks, and activities.


Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Data Science, MIS, or other data and/or analysis-based concentration and 3 years of full-time comparable professional experience OR equivalent combination of education and comparable professional experience


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries and analyzing large datasets from varying sources
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
  • Knowledge of higher education student information systems, their data and business processes
