General Summary

For almost 100 years, Mennonite College of Nursing (MCN) has had a reputation for innovation and excellence. Additional Information

The NSL Assistant Director will:
1. In collaboration with the Director of the NSL, oversee implementation of the simulation program; facilitates utilization, growth and effectiveness related to student success in collaboration with the Clinical Simulation team; promotes, supports and encourages inter-professional application of simulation.
2. Develops, maintains, and communicates with faculty the simulation master schedule and daily simulation schedules.
3. Supports student preparation for simulation, sharing schedules and preparation materials.
4. Provides operational direction to NSL staff and faculty implementing the simulation program.
5. Provides input to the nursing simulation lab curriculum and participates in student evaluation as needed.
6. Participates in simulation days with the faculty to facilitate simulation scenarios and debriefings.
7. In collaboration with the Director, oversees human and financial resources of the NSL.
8. Maintains accountability for the security and integrity of facilities, equipment, and supplies while maximizing their availability for educational exercises.
9. Collaborates with Technology team in development and in maintaining equipment.
10. Collaborates with Pre-licensure and Graduate Curriculum Committees, Course/Sequence leaders and Simulation team to design, develop, and implement clinical simulation curricula, activities based on standards of best practice, and evaluation of student learning.
11. Works with Success Plan Coordinator to facilitate ATI products, student usage and evaluation of data. Evaluation of remediation, student support and individual plans of study as needed.
12. Participates in public relations activities, including tours of the facilities for university and community constituents and a variety of open house events.
13. Supports simulation research activities.
14. Other duties as assigned
15. Regular attendance is a requirement and expectation of the position.

Required Qualifications

1. Masters of Science in Nursing completed by the start date of the appointment.
2. Passion for teaching undergraduate students in clinical, laboratory, and classroom settings.
3. Must have licensure in Illinois by the start date of the appointment.
4. For teaching positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
5.
