Criminal Background Check:
Pre-employment criminal background checks are required for all Staff and Faculty positions. Pre-employment urinalyses drug screens are also required for all top candidates considered for positions in ACC's College Police department.
General Statement of Job

Responsible for coordinating and creating an engaging social media, storytelling, and multimedia presence supporting Texas is IT Apprenticeship positive brand awareness, strategic marketing goals, and educational mission to reach and engage with culturally diverse ACC students, external stakeholders, and employers.Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinates day-to-day duties, including creating and updating content for TXIT social media accounts, curating the editorial calendar, drafting social copy, capturing photos and videos, reports issues, and planning and implementing campaigns across various online platforms.
  • Supports media relations efforts for TXIT with writing, planning, coordination, and execution of activities and events that promote the image.
  • Participates in and provides social media coverage of TXIT events and other storytelling opportunities (post COVID), as needed, to increase business and student engagement.
  • Evaluates and reports on insights, analytics, and tracing metrics.
  • Monitors social channels for community engagement and conversation opportunities; joins the conversation on social media platforms through outreach and response. Responds appropriately to follower comments and messages.
  • Builds and maintains relationships within ACC and with community and industry partners, to coordinate social network activity and optimize promotional opportunities.
  • Conceptualizes new ways to increase TXIT awareness and user engagement (videos, slideshows, podcasts, social applications, and blogging).
  • KnowledgeMust possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

    Strong understanding of social media platforms, particularly Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. Extensive knowledge of content creation, copywriting and blogging practices. Knowledge of strategic communication principles and current best practices. Extensive knowledge of managing current and emerging social media platforms. Extensive knowledge in photo and video creation techniques, principles and equipment. Demonstrated knowledge working with students and groups from underrepresented backgrounds. Understanding of data and analytics to create reports reflecting the impact of media content whether by social media, video or podcast. Ability to present the TXIT Apprenticeship program, in a positive way to diverse, multicultural backgrounds.SkillsMust possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

    Maintaining an established work schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Effectively using organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through. Effectively using interpersonal and communication skills, including tact and diplomacy. Time management, prioritizing, and multi-tasking. Working collaboratively. Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials. Technology Skills

    Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software. Use social media, and may work with desktop publishing and webpages. Intermediate to advanced use of Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, Canva, and Adobe Spark for content creation. Intermediate to advanced use of database and content management systems.Required Work Experience

  • Three years related work experience.

    Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation for travel in the Austin area as required.Physical Requirements

    Work is routinely performed in an office environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.Safety

  • ACC Benefits OverviewFull-time Faculty and Staffing Table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the College are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment.     ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by Federal law.
