The IT Shared Services Department at the University of North Texas System is seeking to hire an IT Security Analyst II to join their team. The holder of this position will be a member of the ITSS Information Security team which provides support and oversight for information security of the University of North Texas System and institutions. This position is responsible for the management of significant areas of the information security program such as the management of network security devices, the development and maintenance of the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan, management of the security awareness program, management of security incidents, supports risk assessment and system administration services. The holder of this position must be able to work without supervision. This is a security sensitive position.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and five years of related computing work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Prior experience with specific systems, equipment and software may be specified as needed by department. Preferred Qualifications:
•Knowledge of information security practices and principles
•Knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery planning
•Industry information security certification or capability of obtaining certification.
•Ability to operate computer keyboards and to install computer hardware.
•Ability to assimilate, retain and utilize technical and applications-oriented information.
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
- Knowledge or experience working with SIEM, log management systems, and/or end point protection products
- Knowledge of statistics, metric generation, and data visualization techniques
- Experience with a scripting language such as Python, Ruby, Perl, UNIX shell scripting, or PowerShell
- Experience in a higher education setting
- Knowledge of the laws, requirements, and standards that govern security and compliance in a higher education setting
- CISSP or the ability to sit for the CISSP examination
