Position Description

The successful candidate will be a part of a team that is responsible for research, development, implementation, and support of Northcentral Technical College’s Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) software.

This role, as a member of IT, will be collaborating with the College’s departments to implement and support Workday Enterprise Management software modules. They will be assisting with setting up best practices for NTC’s business processes. They will also serve as a cross-functional backup to other ERP modules and assist with rolling out additional modules.

As a member of Middle Leadership, this person will portray a broad perspective, which supports the college mission, vision, and goals while fostering and creating an environment, which strives to project, and meet customer needs. A Middle Leader will support a shared leadership culture, through participation in and facilitation of teams. This person is accountable for developing and implementing the means to accomplish the College's goals.

This position may have the option to work remotely.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partners with HR/Finance/Student Services/Learning Team Leads to analyze business practices and processes to implement changes to improve efficiencies and implement best practices.
  • Streamline and automate complex business processes.
  • Design, Build, Test, and Deploy Workday Integration solutions using Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Core Connectors, Cloud Connect and Workday Studio.
  • Testing, evaluating, and implementing new features and updates as they are released.
  • Serves as a cross-functional backup for other ERP modules that we implement.
  • Responsible for quality assurance, creation of test scripts/scenarios for new features and updates.
  • Identifying areas for modification in existing processes and subsequently developing these modifications.
  • Ensure systems quality and data accuracy via regular audits of data adhere to all policies for proper process and protocols.
  • Provide system expertise and functional support.
  • Work closely with functional users to identify, formulate, and document requirements.
  • Design and develop custom reports using supported tools for internal and external consumption as well as state and federal reporting.
  • Provide end user training as well as creating and updating documentation.
  • Ability to learn ERP to develop applications to meet business needs as they arise.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    • Associate’s Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
    • Minimum of two (2) years of software development, software engineer, systems analyst or similar experience for a midsize business.
    • Excellent communication skills and the desire to learn new technologies in a quickly changing environment.
    • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities accordingly. Position will require collaboration with stakeholders, project managers, and system analysts.
    Additional minimum requirements:
  • Excellent interpersonal communications and technical writing skills.
  • Strong testing and analytical skills, ability to identify problems, research issues, and provide solutions
  • Ability to successfully support multiple priorities at the same time.
  • Willingness to work after hours and weekends as stakeholder needs arise.
  • Preferred:
  • 2+ years of Experience in supporting Human Capital Management (HCM) and/or Finance business cycles and operations.
  • Workday software experience in: HCM and/or Finance in multiple modules, implementation, and Reporting & Prism
  • Ability to write complex reports that include calculated fields.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

    Vehicle safety, emergency action plan, emergency procedures, ergonomics (office/workplace) and slips, trips and falls
