Prior experience with international study abroad programming is preferred.

Position Summary:

This position has training in accounting principles and procedures and performs professional level accounting work. This position focuses on activities associated with the UGA International Centers in Oxford, U.K. and Cortona, Italy including managing program budgets, approving transactions, providing reports, reconciliations, and trend analysis. This position oversees faculty hiring, credentialing of international faculty, and managing travel and logistics. A person in this position will supervise others in the office.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

Five years of professional (preferably university) accounting experience. Possesses excellent communication and analytical skills skills (both verbal and written), proficiency with Excel, have excellent planning and organizational skills, work well as part of team. Prior experience with international programming is preferred.

Programs Fiscal Management – Responsible for managing the fiscal processes associated with the UGA International Centers and OGE internal Study Away programs. Conducts reviews of and approves all fiscal transactions for programs. Approves budget change requests. Approves purchase requests. Creates spending plans for program budgets. Works closely with OGE Accounting Manager for International Center Operations, meeting regularly to discuss workflows, topics of concern, and petty cash management.

Programs Faculty Hiring and Credentialing – Responsible for the hiring and credentialing process for all faculty, graduate assistants, program assistants working on UGA International Center and OGE internal Study Away programs. Oversees credentialing and hiring of international faculty. Serves as faculty affairs’ representative for OGE. Works with Fiscal Affairs Manager to initiate positions and manage faculty hires. Reviews faculty and program staff payroll to ensure correct and timely.

Faculty Travel and Logistics – Communicates with faculty and staff traveling abroad as it relates to UGA International Centers and OGE Study Away programs. Manages travel logistics. Works with International Center staff to organize housing and ground transportation. Works closely with program directors to ensure communications and logistics are managed for each traveler. Works with OGE staff to ensure international insurance coverage is in place for travelers.

Supervises employee(s) and student worker(s) and assists with workflow and daily activity of office. Carries our supervisory duties over assigned staff. Meets regularly with OGE Finance Director/Assistant Director to manage and prioritize workload of office staff. Provides training and assistance to OGE Accountants. Attends meetings. Reviews and analyzes organizational procedures and issues related to International Centers & OGE Programs. Makes recommendations for improvement. Advises director of emerging concerns. Conducts other tasks, as assigned.
