Assistant Director of Communications

The University of Tennessee Foundation is seeking a professional to join the Advancement team for the University of Tennessee Knoxville campus. The Assistant Director of Communications will be responsible to write and distribute feature stories focused on alumni, donors, students, and the impact of private support. The position will also develop and write content for the Advancement division, including web articles, print pieces, proposals and announcements related to major gifts, impact books and reports, and more. The stories and content support the work of Advancement colleagues including those in alumni affairs, student-alumni programs, stewardship, development, annual giving, and planned giving. The team member will be responsible for communicating a consistent message and brand for the university and its alumni and development related programs.The Foundation is an interdependent nonprofit corporation that enriches the lives of the students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the University of Tennessee through alumni engagement, financial stewardship and private investments. Candidate must have 3 years of experience in writing, communications, public relations, or related field. Strong interpersonal and communications skills required as well as strong writing and creative thinking skills. Higher education work experience and project management experience is preferred.
