CU Innovations is searching for a Graphic Designer / Social Media Specialist to join a globally ranked top 20 office for innovation. We are seeking a creative, dynamic, and highly organized Graphic Designer / Social Media Specialist to create exceptional marketing deliverables for our team. The ideal candidate for this role is self-motivated with an eye for impactful design that thrives in a fast-paced environment. 

In this position, you will design effective promotional material content, coordinate event outreach, and ensure all marketing activities are delivered in a timely, compliant manner. A primary responsibility of the position will be to prepare, design, and coordinate proposals for CU Innovations. The Graphic Designer / Social Media Specialist will be involved in all aspects of proposal preparation including – coordinating meetings to assess team needs, responding to proposal requirements, design and update collateral, and overall document production.  

Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.  At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain branding standards for CU Innovations
  • Design, prepare and coordinate of the creation of partnership proposals
  • Create and maintain marketing materials that align with department strategic goals
  • Drive execution of marketing deliverables by holding various teams accountable for deadlines
  • Monitor business periodicals, other subscription services, web pages, events and articles for opportunities
  • Build strategic email marketing campaigns
  • Coordinate development and distribution of press releases
  • Design and prepare engaging presentations with compelling content and visuals
  • Analyze and present effectiveness of created marketing campaigns
  • Support department social media channels
  • Maintain current pages and design new pages for CU Innovations department website
  • Create, design and coordinate CU Innovations Newsletter
     


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably within Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field of study
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar position (Social Media Specialist, Graphic Designer, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of work experience in a similar position
  • HTML knowledge strongly preferred
  • Experience in creating corporate business development presentations
  • Advanced experience in graphic design and communication design
  • Advanced experience in graphic design using Adobe Suite products (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign) and Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft, Word, Powerpoint)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines
  • Proven skills using Google Analytics, Facebook/Twitter/Instagram social media tools
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and be able to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
  • Individual must be comfortable working with and learning new technology
  • Experience with troubleshooting issues and recommending solutions
  • Knowledge of digital/email marketing best practices and building websites
Required: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $44,526 to $87.450.  

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
