Job Summary

The UNG Cyber Patriot Camp (CPC) is an immersive, academic camp for high-achieving high school students during the summer of their Sophomore, Junior and/or Senior year. CPC is a 20 hour non-resident program that exposes JROTC Cadets to UNG basic computer and cyber operations and the Corps of Cadets Leadership Program. The course is in collaboration with the Air Force Associations (AFA) "Cyber Patriot" National Youth Cyber Education Program. There are three camp sessions in July that are housed from 19-23 July and 26-30 July 2021 on the Gainesville and Cumming campus, as well as on the Etowah High Campus, in Woodstock, Georgia. UNG Cyber and Computer Science Faculty, along with IT Specialists, are hired to work as instructors at each location.The CPC Instructor supervises and teaches basic cyber curriculum and ensures classroom conditions are efficient and optimal for instruction. The CPC Instructor will report daily to the CPC Coordinator to manage academic matters and coordinate with parents. The CPC Instructor will be required to travel to and from the CPC and will exhibit strong cyber/computer science skills, integrity, dependability and personal initiative. The successful candidate will facilitate active, engaging, communicative lessons using AFA academic course material for a four hour day, five day cyber immersion camp. Cyber Instructor enables Cadets' competencies, knowledge and skills in basic computer and cyber operations including; introduction to cybersecurity and careers, ethics, threats, security principles, software, and culminate in a cyber-competition.

Responsibilities
  • Teach rising sophomore and junior JROTC Cadets basic computer and cyber operations using the Air Force Association Cyber Instruction curriculum.
  • Follow and facilitate AFA lesson plans which enhance Cadets' understanding and appreciation of cyber operations and computer science.
  • Work with CPC Academic Director for academic instruction and classroom standards.
  • Monitor and assess Cadet academic understanding and progress.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows 10, Ubuntu 16, Linux, GUI Security, CLI, BMWare, 7 Zip, and MD5.
  • Must be flexible and responsible.
  • Abiity to multi-task.
  • Must be adaptive in a fluid environment.
  • Must be creative, enthusiastic, active, patient, passionate.
  • Must have a positive attitude.
  • Must have an engaged teaching methodology and high-energy teaching style.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • K-12 or post-secondary teaching experience preferred, but not required.
  • CompTIA Security+ or similar industry certification preferred.
