About American International College:
American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 70+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart with a total of approximately 660,000 gross square feet. Included in the inventory of buildings are student residences for a resident population of 900 students. Founded in 1885, the College has approximately 3200 graduate and undergraduate students. Create complex SQL queries that allow data to be extracted efficiently, while maintaining a high-level of data security and data integrity.
Collaborate with database and data integration teams to build and maintain data bridges between systems; provide specifications, testing, and validation on new data bridges.
Assist in evaluation of data processing for integration with current systems, data points needed for warehouse, reporting, stored and documented in data dictionaries.
Assist with monitoring SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, and SSMS daily activities, troubleshoot root cause analysis and resolutions with the Database and Integration teams. Work with other IT staff to create and test error and exceptions processing.
Continually analyze technologies, technical processes and/or functions as they relate to key performance metrics or executive dashboards.
Collaborate and assist with creating system and user documentation with all campus offices; report to management where gaps in documentation exist.
Assist with software systems updates/upgrades, testing, scheduling, communications and system performance with staff.
Compile, analyze, and disseminate quantitative data on facets of the College and related educational issues, including institutional characteristics, enrollments, student retention, student transfer activities, enrollment projections, grades, other student performance indicators and fiscal affairs.
Support the ongoing assessment and effective utilization of data for planning, policy-making, and program improvement.

Required Degree(s): Bachelors, preferably in a technical field
Preferred Degree(s): Masters, preferably in a technical field
Required Field of Expertise: Minimum 3 years of experience in quantitative research, statistical analysis, data transformation and reporting; Business Analytics, Data Analytics, MS SSIS, MS SSAS, MS SSMS, MS SSRS
Required Training/Cert: If degree is in non-technical field should have some technical/database training beyond formal education.
Preferred Training/Cert: Experience with Major Higher Education information systems, training (i.e.: PeopleSoft, Jenzabar, Ellucian) and implementation.
Must be able to work in a diverse environment
Understand how databases and data are structured and the types of tables and fields often found in Higher Education ERP systems
Ability to collaborate effectively with College offices and administration, seek consensus on outcomes, and apply bench-marking techniques.
Must possess excellent computer skills and familiarity with Higher Education Enterprise Systems, SQL and data analysis software tools
Experience in documenting policies, procedures, sharing source information, and team oriented development.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
Self-motivated with strong work ethic.
Knowledge of current trends and issues relating to federal and state reporting; accreditation requirements; current and innovative practices in the development and assessment of institutional effectiveness and student learning outcomes; current theory and practice in institutional research; the development of assessment tools and methods of measurement; research design; data warehousing, management information systems
This is a full time, exempt level, benefit eligible position. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm, flexible to the needs of the department. Night and weekend work may be required.
