Job Summary: The Mail Services Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of an assigned work area and ensures smooth operations of all functions within campus mail.

Additional Department Summary: Responsible for the performance, output and overall efficiency of the Ferguson Mail Center operation. Responsibility includes managing, planning and coordinating of all daily functions of the Ferguson Mail Center. Provides assistance with the development of operational and strategic plans to ensure maximum operational efficiency and productivity. Responsible for the coordination of all activities for the Ferguson Mail Center staff. This position reports to the Executive Director of Campus Mail Service.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of mail experience; OR a high school diploma or GED and six (6) years of mail experience. Must include at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have a valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier. Final candidates who are not current University of Alabama employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.

Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of United States Postal Service mailing regulations and rates; general mailing and shipping procedures and practices with other carriers, such as United Parcel Service and Federal Express.

Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Operations Management, Business Administration or Logistics Management.
