Multimedia Content Creator

Description:

The St. John's Digital Team is looking for a talented Multimedia Content Creator with a passion for video production and a keen eye for design. A successful candidate must have their finger on the pulse of emerging trends across all social media platforms and will be able to produce content that breaks through the clutter. Most importantly, a successful candidate must have a good deal of on-set videography, editing and audio experience. St. John's is a Catholic, Vincentian University with a diverse body of students, alumni, faculty and staff. A successful candidate must be able to produce high-quality content that embodies and embraces that diversity

Responsibilities:

  • Direct, shoot and edit compelling video content for all social media platforms (Instagram, IGTV, Reels, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook) to build brand awareness, drive engagement, and increase followership.
  • Create static, and animated assets with an elevated aesthetic.
  • Source, curate, create, and edit all written and visual content for video publishing. Research competitive landscape to identify seasonal trends, strategic initiatives, best practices, and social innovation.
  • Develop, prioritize, pitch social and digital ideas that align with editorial objectives and prioritize storytelling.
  • Develop new series and expand on our current programs.
  • Source and edit user-generated content from social media.
  • Collaborate on multi-camera recordings and live-streaming projects.
  • Maintain understanding of updates on digital landscape software and platforms
  • Work remotely and independently on production as needed.
  • Ensure technical specs compliment creative elements.
  • Utilize discretion and good judgment in representing the organization while interfacing with clients, talent, crew members, and the broader community.


Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years' experience working in film/video production.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Ability to edit and capture high-quality video with HDSLR and professional video cameras.
  • Proficiency in a range of video-related software, including but not limited to, Final Cut Pro, Motion, Compressor, Premiere, After Effects, Pro Tools, and Photoshop.
  • Advanced knowledge of web video distribution for social media platforms.
  • Ability to write and edit descriptions and on-screen captions for video content.
  • Advanced experience with distributing web video across social media
  • Excellent communication skills and team oriented.
  • Self-motivated and able to execute high quality work under tight deadlines with minimal oversight.
