Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Associate Director of the Economic Crisis Response Team (ECRT), the ECRT Coordinator provides critical support for the ECRT. They provide case management for referrals and support by working collaboratively with campus-wide partners to address the economic crisis the student is experiencing. The ECRT Coordinator will maintain effective relationships with campus and community partners. The ECRT Coordinator formulates an appropriate course of action that addresses, minimizes or otherwise resolves the presenting concerns and assists the referred students in making use of university and/or community resources. This position will require that the ECRT Coordinator maintain extensive knowledge of basic needs resources and basic needs challenges that students in higher education may face.

Consulting with the Director of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, the ECRT Coordinator will maintain a thorough working knowledge of all aid programs available at SDSU and the processes on how aid is awarded each academic year. This knowledge is utilized when formulating the appropriate course of action for student referrals.

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base) benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before 6/30/2022, with the possibility of reappointment. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.

Education and Experience

Experience:

Two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A master’s degree in a job‑related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.

Education:

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field, including or supplemented by upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution where such are job-related.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Counseling, Student Affairs or Educational Leadership.
• Case management experience.
• Experience working with clients facing immediate crisis.
• Experience working with local community resources.
• Experience working in a university setting or with young adult populations.
• Working knowledge of basic needs resources and basic needs challenges experienced by students in higher education.

Specialized Skills Required

• Must be available to work in an “on-call” capacity when emergencies or crisis arise during evenings and weekends.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $4,304 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,304 - $6,120 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
