Schedule: TBD by the needs of department and student schedule between hours of Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. 20 hrs. max/week.
Current work plan: Work will be mix of Remote/Virtual and On-Site. On-Site work would only begin once approved by College Leadership.

Student Ambassadors at the Delaware Campus help with the college’s student retention efforts through current and prospective student events. The goal is to help students remove barriers to persistence and to reinforce success-oriented behaviors that lead to certificate and degree completion. Student Ambassadors will:
1) Hold weekly office hours and serve as a campus liaison to help students one-on-one with navigating college processes, developing time management and study skills, and accessing campus, community and service learning resources.
2) Connect students to campus and community resources such as: Campus Cupboards, Mid-Ohio Market, applying for federal programs etc.
3) Provide content and represent Columbus State Delaware Campus through social media: Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
4) Provide campus tours to campus visitors and assists with Student Services events (NSO, Orientation, Open House, Delaware Day, Woodward).
5) Serve as Columbus State student representative at events and practices professionalism both on and off campus.
6) Contribute to campus life by demonstrating sincerity, enthusiasm, credibility, interest, and helpfulness.
7) Attend trainings, workshops, and monthly meetings.
8) Conduct outreach activities to inform students of college deadlines and events to promote and support retention.
9) Create and engage with Student Engagement Events and department programming.
10) Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of: Columbus State campus, programs, services, and opportunities for student engagement. Must be interested in learning about college and community resources for referrals.
Skill in: Student Ambassadors need to possess strong leadership abilities, empathetic and active listening and communication skills, an aptitude for problem solving and group work, comfort with public speaking, an ability to work with diverse populations, and the motivation to learn and help others in the Columbus State community.
Ability to: Operate a computer (including fundamental understanding of Microsoft Office). Must be able to navigate Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
This position requires applicants to have Federal Work Study as part of their current Financial Aid package with Columbus State. You must also be enrolled in SIX or more credit hours in a degree or certificate program. Applicants must have received a high school diploma or a certificate of attendance from an accredited secondary school or a certificate of high school equivalence and be exempt from Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4109.
Must have reliable transportation or other means to get to work and service learning opportunities.
Students enrolled as Transient, College Credit Plus, Undecided, or otherwise non degree-seeking are not considered eligible for Student Employment.
• Prefer applicants who have successfully completed a least one recent (within the last two years) semester at Columbus State
• Prefer applicants who have successfully completed COLS 1100 (First Year Experience Seminar) or COLS 1101 (College Success Skills) course
• Strongly prefer applicants who are available for employment the full academic year
• Experienced using social media
• Have some experiences engaging in service, working with others, and taking on leadership roles
Position/training to begin shortly before Autumn 2021 semester.
Student Ambassadors would be expected to attend a CLCO Conference over a Friday and Saturday in November.
