Job Summary The Department of General Education at the University of West Georgia invites applications for part-time Instructors of Mathematics. The appointments will begin in Fall 2021 and may be renewed. The positions are contingent on funding and enrollment.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will teach three to seven credit-hours of mathematics courses per semester in Carrollton, Newnan, and/or Douglasville.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Master's degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a closely related field with a strong academic preparation in mathematics (at least 18 semester credit hours in mathematics at the graduate level).


Preferred Qualifications

The successful candidate should be passionate about teaching lower-division mathematics courses to a diverse student body. Experience in college-level teaching is desired, along with knowledge of technology applications in mathematics classrooms. Preferred candidates will have prior teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Required Documents to Attach Must submit the following documents: 1) a letter of application summarizing the applicant's interest in the position and qualifications, 2) a current curriculum vitae, and 3) the contact information of three references who can attest to the candidate's teaching abilities.
