The Christopher Newport University College of Arts and Humanities is accepting applications from prospective adjunct faculty members to teach individual courses in Dance, as needed, in the following areas in Fall 2019 and/or Spring 2020.

-Modern
-Ballet
-Jazz
-Hip Hop

Along with demonstrated ability for excellent teaching, candidates must hold an earned graduate or terminal degree from an accredited university in a relevant discipline, with 18 completed semester hours of related graduate course work. Official transcripts will be required at the time of hire. Candidates for hire are required to complete a CNU sponsored background check.

Departmental Information:

The Department of Theater & Dance at Christopher Newport University is an energetic, production-driven program composed of 11 full-time faculty and 110 majors. The Theater and Dance faculty are highly credentialed theater professionals who maintain an atmosphere of collegiality and supportive collaboration. The Department is housed in the world-class Ferguson Center for the Arts boasting state-of-the-art studios and classrooms, fully equipped design labs and construction shops, and three distinct performance venues. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theater (NAST), the University offers a BA in theater with a choice of six concentrations and a popular dance minor. In addition to an ambitious production schedule, the program also offers an annual dance concert and various student directed performances.
