School of Medicine - Emergency Medicine

Job Description

This continuous listing is open to Missouri-licensed emergency medical services providers and certified American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructors teaching in the EMS Education program at the School of Medicine.

Duties include:

  • Evaluate student progress by writing and administering written exams
  • Responsible for teaching and testing assigned practical skill labs for EMT, Specialty (BLS, ACLS, and PALS), EMS Continuing Education, and Paramedic programs
  • Evaluating student progress by observing and documenting professional behaviors, and performing student evaluations during practical examinations, clinical, and field experience
  • Collaborating with the Program Director and Medical Director in determining course content, curriculum, program schedule, course objectives, pre-entrance qualifications and program completion criterion
  • Lead EMS Instructors develop and present lecture materials for assigned programs approved by EMS Education Program Director and EMS Education Medical Director
Minimum Qualifications

Other instructors: Missouri EMT, EMT-I or Paramedic license or other healthcare related license in the area of instruction. Certification as an American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, or PALS instructor, ITLS or PHTLS Instructor preferred.

Lead EMS Instructor: Missouri Paramedic license and meets statutory requirements for Lead EMS Instructor according to 19 CSR 30-40.331; Nationally-certified Paramedic.
