Job Description

The UMKC School of Nursing seeks a ranked non-tenure track Assistant Clinical Professor/Associate Clinical Professor /Clinical Professor, to teach Anatomy and Physiology and other courses for our undergraduate program. The School is located in the heart of Kansas City on the Health Science District campus, along with the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, and Pharmacy. The School of Nursing and Health Studies, with over 1,400 students, offers a pre-licensure BSN, RN to BSN, MSN, DNP and PhD programs. The School has full accreditation from CCNE and UMKC has NCA accreditation.

The faculty selected for this position will be expected to: a) teach in the undergraduate program (full-time, 9 month appointment); b) provide service appropriate to the position; c) advance the goals of the School of Nursing and the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Strategic Plan; d) remain current in clinical practice (if RN); and e) provide guidance in the application of technology to nursing. The School seeks faculty of regional or national prominence to teach in our innovative programs. Accredited by the Commission for Collegiate Nursing Education, the School values excellence in teaching, scholarship, clinical practice and service.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for Associate Clinical Professor/Clinical Professor you must have PhD or DNP or closely related degrees in nursing or related field.

To be considered for Assistant Clinical Professor you must have an earned Master’s degree in nursing or related field.

In addition to the above, you must also have:

    expertise in human anatomy and physiology;a record of quality teaching and service appropriate to the rank;expertise in applying technology, including computer skills, to nursing;eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Missouri (if RN);excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and,ability to work in teams.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in teaching at the university level; experience in interdisciplinary education and health/life sciences education

Full Time/Part Time

Full time, benefit-eligible, nine month appointment

Salary

$58,000 - $65,280 annual
