Position Summary:The NIH Contract Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating meetings and organizing necessary documents as they relate to current contracts. This position will also be expected to manage all financial aspects of contracts, including monitoring budgets and ensuring compliance with the guidelines of the contract and the University. The position is also expected to serve as a communications liaison, handling both internal and external communications. This position will regularly engage in reporting activities and will ensure that training requirements are met. This position is funded by a seven year contract with opportunity for renewal, and while unlikely, the position may terminate after one year if funding is not continued.

Duties/Responsibilities:Manages operational activities including coordinating meetings Center staff and members, collects and organizes required contract and research documents, ensures clerical and secretarial work is completed. Serves as liaison to NIH at administrative and business levels.

Duties/Responsibilities:Manages budgetary and financial information including monitoring multiple budgets and facilitating decisions on adjustments, assessing priority of funding requests, reviews the NIH and subcontract invoices for accuracy and compliance, facilitates use of supplemental funding, and ensures continued contract and UGA guideline compliance.

Duties/Responsibilities:Manages internal and external communications. Disseminates leadership decisions, NIH requests for information and collates responses, reviews pre-publication research manuscripts, creates and maintains brochures, manuals, and training guidance, facilitates sharing of scientific progress among Center investigators and the broader scientific communities, and assures center website is maintained. Aids in writing press releases and communicating with media with appropriate University support.

Duties/Responsibilities:Coordinates compliance and reporting activities including but not limited to contract options, annual and semi-annual technical, reagent, and data reports, FISMA compliance report, select agent and highly pathogenic agents’ reports. Assures all Center members and staff have the appropriate and complete training as required by the contract. Reviews pre-publication research manuscripts for sensitive information & institutional compliance. Collaborates with Data Management and SOM/DOM IT to ensure integrity of data and contract compliance including FIPS, IT Security Plan, and Risk Assessment. Assures and facilitates Biosafety Office(s) and IBC issues related to highly pathogenic viruses, DURC and gain of function research.
