Instructor or Assistant Professor of Drama and Speech
Type of Position:Faculty
Responsibilities:Teach Introduction to Theater, Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication and Intro to Speech; provide quality and innovative instruction (normal load is 15 hours per semester plus the possibility of one summer teaching), including day and evening, and perhaps Saturday; teach drama and/or speech classes online; effectively mentor and advise students; supply professional leadership in curriculum; assist with advising and registration; serve on departmental and college committees; continue professional development; and perform other duties as assigned.
This is a non-tenured full time faculty position.
Qualifications:Master’s degree in Speech or Communication required or a master’s degree with at least eighteen graduate hours in the speech or communication field. Community college experience preferred. Online teaching experience a plus. Candidate must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds. Must comply with established College standards and policies.
This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215.
