The Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee is seeking a Program Coordinator in the Office of International Programs and Study Abroad.

 

The Office of International Programs and Study Abroad (IPSA) will contribute to the development of a vibrant, new student engagement and success center, focused on enabling students in the Haslam College of Business to achieve higher value-added educational outcomes, employment, career progression opportunities, and to develop their leadership potential and capabilities. The unit will build on existing global partnerships and external international relationships to create a new portfolio of multi-continent international programs and services that will assist students in clarifying their study abroad opportunities, identify appropriate international academic exchange opportunities, and pursue international internship/community service opportunities. The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee and the Haslam College of Business is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.

 

The Program Coordinator position will contribute to the mission of increased meaningful, international mobility of Haslam students.  They will be responsible for both student recruitment and advising into existing study abroad program opportunities as well as assisting with program development at UT and abroad. The Program Coordinator will coordinate with the Undergraduate Business Programs Office and the Center for International Education in identifying good programmatic options for students in different majors and the development of materials to facilitate the students’ program selection process.  Additional duties include: representing the Haslam College of Business at fairs, conferences, orientations and corporate events; participation in the college’s development of an office of student engagement and success; capturing and maintaining student data; program assessment, and development of reports and presentations.



Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required in International Studies, Education, Business, Student Services or a related field. At least three years of experience working in international education, student services, academic advising, international engagement, or a related field.  Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred can substitute for two years of work experience.  Excellent communication skills.  Evidence of project management/implementation, leadership, and organizational skills, including multitasking.  Must be able to travel internationally.

 

Desired Qualifications:

Work experience in a related and professional field.  Experience working in an environment similar to an undergraduate business advising office, an international office, or related experience.  Familiarity with an undergraduate business curriculum.  Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and information technologies used for student record keeping. Public speaking experience, proficiency in a foreign language, and experience living, working, and/or studying abroad preferred.
