Job Summary The College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia was established in 1990 under the direction of the founding dean, Peter Freeman. The college is a world-class leader in research and computing breakthroughs. Based on the latest ranking in the U.S. News and World Report, our graduate program is currently ranked 7th nationally. The college consists of four schools and a division that provide specialized and general computing education to the entire campus. The college of part of Georgia Institute of Technology, which is a unit of the University System of the State of Georgia and is primarily located in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia. Georgia Tech is ranked #35 amongst national universities.

The Online Masters of Computer Science (OMSCS) degree program of the College of Computing launched the first Master of Science in Computer Science in January 2014. The OMSCS program brings together leaders in education, MOOCs and industry to apply the disruptive power of technology to widen the pipeline of high-quality, educated talent needed in computer science fields. The OMSCS program is ranked #8 by U.S. News & World Report's Graduate School Rankings and Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

The OMSCS program invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track research faculty position as Associate Director of Diversity of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Student Life /Research Associate I to start July 1, 2021. This will be a remote position.

Responsibilities Primary responsibilities of this position will be to:

    Investigate the experience of underrepresented groups in the program Develop and evaluate programs for recruiting underrepresented groups into the program Serve as a point of contact for concerns specific to their group Investigate the relationship between new course content and different underrepresented groups Develop and evaluate programs for supporting networking among underrepresented groups Publish in relevant conference and journals the result of such initiatives Research available options for facilitating a virtual campus Research ways to create more peripheral awareness and participation among OMSCS students Develop and evaluate approaches to facilitating the formation of student organization in an online student body Develop and evaluate ways of better integrating the online student body with the on-campus student body Research ways to enhance students’ self-identification as students of the institute, and Publish results in relevant conferences and journals.
Required Qualifications

A bachelors degree.

Preferred Qualifications A master’s degree (MSCS preferred) and 1-2 years of experience in education and/or 1-2 years of experience in computer science is preferred.
