Position Summary::

Electrical and Computer Engineering Assistant Professor in the area of remote sensing. Specifically, we are interested in candidates with specializations in signal processing application to radar, LIDAR, and other sensors; microwave remote sensing with emphasis on algorithms and data analysis; and sensor development and design for snow, moisture, ice, and other targets.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level with emphasis in the area of remote sensing. Specifically, we are interested in candidates with specializations in signal processing application to radar, LIDAR, and other sensors; microwave remote sensing with emphasis on algorithms and data analysis; and sensor development and design for snow, moisture, ice, and other targets. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in electrical or computer engineering, or a closely related field, by the date of appointment and must show the potential to establish a quality research program, collaborate effectively with other faculty, and excel in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

The College occupies well over a half million square feet of state of the art research and instructional facilities, including the $300 million Shelby Engineering and Science Quadrangle completed in 2014 and the newly reopened $22 million renovated H.M. Comer in 2018. The Carnegie Foundation has recognized The University of Alabama with its Very High Research Activity status (formerly known as R1 status).

The University is located on a beautiful 1,168 acre residential campus in Tuscaloosa, a dynamic and resilient community of over 150,000 in central Alabama.
