Nursing: Advanced Health Assessment: Primary Care Nursing (FNP), Master of Science in Nursing

Position Description:

Adjunctfaculty for the Division of Masters Nursing in the School of Nursing at IndianaWesleyan University will be responsible for teaching adult students onsite/onlinethe curriculum established by the master nursing faculty in our facilitatormodel of instruction as opportunities become available.

REPORTINGRELATIONSHIP

Dean, Division of Masters of Nursing withsupervision by the Associate Dean of Nurse Practitioner Programs (or designee).

DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate content expertise in the subject area, teaching in the nurse practitioner programs online/onsite.
  • Supervise and evaluate student progress to ensure a positive and favorable learning environment and facilitate student success
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and professional staff
  • Demonstrate a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ to students as related to life and learning and incorporate Biblical principles and prayer into teaching content
  • Responsible for student evaluation and timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional development, including but not limited to required faculty development opportunities
  • Complete other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Accordingto Indiana Wesleyan University’s employment policy, all employees must possessa strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Earned doctorate preferred with an advanced degree in nursing required (Masters or Doctorate)

Required Skills

  • Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner; other advanced practice nurse certifications may be considered for select courses.
  • Evidence of five years of clinical practice
  • Faculty must maintain an active, unencumbered RN license and appropriate certification in their state of residence (Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, [southern] Michigan, or Illinois).

Experience

  • Teaching and instructional strategies for the online and onsite classroom/environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
  • Ability to communicate and problem-solve professionally while maintaining the confidentiality of vital information
  • Proficient and functional knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook)
