The MST Program at the Kempe Center is seeking two MST Co-Directors for Program Development and Implementation. Kempe is a world leader in the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. We bring together leading research and treatment professionals, policy makers and community members to make sure every child has the opportunity to develop and grow in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.

This position is responsible for providing leadership and support for the development and high-quality implementation of Multisystemic Therapy teams, as well as providing MST expert consultation. The Co-directors will support program development for new MST teams as well as supervise the ongoing implementation of existing MST teams. This position will ensure high-quality training and support and provide guidance for MST programs to help them effectively implement the Multisystemic Therapy treatment model with fidelity. This position will provide training and guidance in the theory and application of MST to personnel involved with the MST program and who hold a variety of positions including clinicians, supervisors, administrators, and policy makers. This position will provide consultative support to 4-5 (maximum 6) assigned MST agencies, including weekly telephone consultation, ongoing training to the MST therapists and supervisors, and support regarding organizational and systems issues. This position will also work with state and local partners to address policy-related needs, build workforce capacity and opportunities for learning collaboratives within the state and support research on the MST model and its implementation. Given the nature of program development and program implementation supports, there may be substantial variability in essential functions for this position over time. The co-directors are expected to form a leadership core for the MST program, along with the Network Partner Director and Assistant Director.
Examples of Work Performed:

Program Development
• Engages in initial start-up and ongoing Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement activities with agencies interesting in starting an MST team. Takes the lead on assessing strengths and needs, and develops plans to address needs at the level of provider and community systems that impact the functioning of the MST program, including via Program Implementation Reviews (PIRs)
• Leads coordination with MST Services for launching new MST teams
• Leads proactive marketing strategies to identify regions of potential growth and facilitate relationships with existing MST providers expressing interest in expansion
• Engages with State and other external stakeholders on MST expansion

Program Implementation
• Organize and participate in calls with NP Director and agency sites, as needed
• Assist with development and measurement of project benchmarks and deliverables as defined by funding requirements
• Assist with development of statewide support infrastructures
• Participate in strategic planning efforts to assess areas of strengths and potential risks for MST teams, including consistent assessment of team model fidelity
• Lead coordination with MST Services for existing MST teams
• Troubleshoot ongoing MST team needs
• Monitor therapist adherence measure completion and liaison with call centers as necessary
• Participate in MST Services in-service trainings and funding workshops
• Lead steering committees and similar peer groups of MST providers
• When applicable, mentor new MST Experts and facilitate new MST Expert hiring

MST Program Leadership Activities
• Attends to MST Program staff development opportunities
• In coordination with MST program staff and leadership, ensure execution of the MST
program’s strategic plan, including financial health, growth needs, work climate, and equity and inclusion


MST Expert
• Maintains expert knowledge of MST and its component parts. Engages in ongoing QA of expert's work and professional development processes with MST coach and the Network Partner Director
• Provides weekly consultation for 4-5 (maximum 6) teams implementing MST
• Provides training and support to MST supervisors and therapists on a regular and ongoing basis, documenting training and support activities via written development plans
• Conducts portions of Multisystemic Therapy orientation training and Advanced Supervisor Trainings, as assigned
• Develop additional trainings for either current MST therapists and supervisors or more general trainings for the broader community
• Determines additional training needs of MST supervisors and teams. Coordinates quarterly booster training including scheduling, preparation of materials, communication with customer personnel regarding training logistics, and facilitating all activities required to successfully complete training and evaluation. Serves as a resource to supervisors and therapists for additional materials relevant to their training needs regarding research-proven interventions
• Provide team coverage for other MST Experts in the Network when needed

Other Functions:
• Travel 20% to 40% of work time
• Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $70,000 to $76,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in psychology, Social Work, counseling, or related field
  • Formal training in MST
  • Experience in MST Program Development and MST Expert rol
Conditions of Employment:

Must successfully pass a 10-panel drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal and sex-offender background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience teaching professionals or graduate students preferable
  • Prior experience providing community-based and home-based service delivery using systemic approaches to treatment preferable
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and make effective public presentations
Competencies:

  • Clinical competence in family therapy, behavior therapy, and child development
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Familiarity with research literature on the causes, correlates, and treatments of delinquency desirable
  • The MST Expert will be expected to perform with self-disciplined independence in an environment of ongoing accountability
  • Strong leadership skills, approaches work with integrity and open to continuous learning
  • Knowledge and ability to effectively engage individuals from broadly diverse communities
  • Strong skillset in large system collaboration efforts and initiatives
  • Ability to work independently
