Job Description:

Saybrook University is seeking a Federal Work Study eligible Administrative Assistant to join the Department of University Relations to work remotely (for not more than 20 hours a week).

Under the direction of the Director of University Relations, the FWS Student is responsible for providing general administrative support for the department.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Post and edit Saybrook information on social media (such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter).
  • Assist with grant research and contact community organizations to coordinate events.
  • Proof read miscellaneous documents and perform general office duties.
  • Prepares and delivers a wide range of services as it relates to University Relations activities
  • Assist with Event coordination
  • Coordinates travel arrangements and presentations.
  • Makes phone calls to alumni
  • Makes contact with Community Partners
  • Assist with email correspondence
  • Take notes for Alumni Council conferences
  • Assist with “thank you” letters and email
  • Assist with follow-up donor or gift contact.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 (word, excel, power point and outlook)
  • Strong Social Media knowledge (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter)

Position Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled at Saybrook University and eligible for FWS
  • Exceptional ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to manage social media websites
  • Able to work independently and as in a team as well
  • Completes tasks in a professional and timely manner

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Must be able to bend and reach out to files and boxes
  • Ability to perform sedentary work

Ability to operate office equipment including computer, printers, and phone
