Minimum Qualifications:

Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least a 4-year baccalaureate degree in the field and at least 2 years of post-graduate experience in the computer science/software engineering or related field, or post-graduate education.

Position Summary:

The person in this position will be directly involved in the design, creation, management and support of interactive educational materials for use in the university curriculum. This will entail the computer programming experience and skills needed to incorporate illustrations, 3D models, animations, photographs and video into interactive experiences delivered on mobile devices and desktop computers. The person in this position will work with faculty, Educational Resources staff, graduate assistants, and students. The position needs a professional, competent, and team-oriented individual capable of meeting challenging deadlines.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

· Write well-documented code in C++/C#, and JavaScript, Html5 or Python

· Create user interfaces based on designs and storyboards provided by medical illustrators in Educational Resources.

· Set up virtual environments for a wide range of augmented and virtual reality scenarios and diagnose, document, and fix bugs reported by users.

General familiarity and understanding of industry-standard 3D graphics software such as Cinema4D, Maya, Substance, and/or Houdini

Effective communications skills, including the ability to facilitate problem resolution, receive creative direction and feedback, and work well with clients. Initiative, flexibility, and the working in a team environment.

Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with experience managing multiple projects and prioritize workflow while providing excellent work to meet deadlines.

Initiative to investigate and remain current on new technology, software, and graphics models for effective communication of educational content.

Interest in scientific subject matter and teaching science-related concepts.

Use programming skills to develop, trouble-shoot, refine and implement new interactive educational materials; work closely with the staff in Educational Resources, faculty and graduate assistants to assess the capabilities and ease-of-use of these materials.
