Job Summary

"Assists RecycleWest with activities associated with the Campus Recycling Program. Duties include but are not limited to the collection, sorting and disposal of recyclable materials and recycling containers;

Monitor the flow of recycle materials and makes recommendations to number of bins provided and frequency of pickups; electronically document/communicate pertinent information related to recycling on campus (via marketing/educational outreach activities);

Heavy lifting of recycling materials, sorting of contaminants, transportation and marketing of all recyclables collected on campus both in office and academic buildings on campus, common outdoor areas, and sporting venues and bus stops.

Ability to understand and follow safety procedures; Ability to communicate the recycling program effectively with University students, faculty, staff and campus visitors."

Required Qualifications

"Valid Driver's License.

Current UWG student with minimum 2.0 GPA

Handle considerable physical activity.

Be able to work in all weather conditions.

Be able to work with minimal supervision."

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with recycling and sustainable practices.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Safely operating a motor vehicle.

"Physical work is a primary part of this job. Position requires heavy lifting and maneuvering of objects up to 50 lbs.

Work environment often includes exposure to some hazards and physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions and the utilization of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Also, exposure to loud noises, extreme temperatures (climate related), dirt, dust, unpleasant odors, etc."
