Description
The Financial Professional 3 assists in the management and maintenance of the comprehensive accounting system for the University The position serves as a financial accounting systems control expert for the university and assists in the review, design, management, control, and improvement of the general ledger and controlling component of the University’s Financial ERP Software. The Financial Professional 3 is also responsible for assisting with troubleshooting errors occurring in the financial and controlling components of the production client, including interface integration.

The Financial Professional 3 also assists in the management of the monthly and the annual accounting cycle and assists in the overseeing and scheduling of activities making up the monthly closing cycle. Other month-end responsibilities include redistribution of costs and recognition of revenues, detection, and correction of flawed transactions, synchronization of ledgers between modules, and managing and supporting the interface process for general ledger transactions. The position supports the annual accounting cycle in several ways and is also responsible for ad hoc reporting.



Qualifications
Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in a business-related field with accounting courses is required. A Master's Of Accountancy degree with an emphasis in data management or information management is preferred. Demonstrated use of database systems to solve accounting issues is also required. Active license or in pursuit of a CPA, or other accounting-related professional certifications, are preferred.

Demonstrated quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required along with high-level knowledge of accounting principles. Additional required skills and qualifications include:

  • the ability to provide computer system design and use data preparation tools
  • the ability to learn and perform ERP configuration
  • the ability to perform computer programming
  • ability to quickly learn and utilize a variety of software systems
  • high-level of knowledge and ability to use spreadsheet and database software
  • excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • sensitivity to cultural diversity and the ability to communicate and interact effectively with teams and individuals of all ages and backgrounds
Knowledge of database software programs for data preparation/extract and data analytics such as Monarch, SQL, EZ Morph, Alteryx, Tableau, and Power BI is preferred.
