Posting Information:

1.) Daily Operations of the Academic Enhancement Program (AEP):
-Oversee day, night, and summer study hall hours Sunday through Friday
-Responsible for range of student-athletes from various teams: conduct academic meetings, collect and evaluate progress reports, assist student while s/he signs up for tutoring, discuss academic performance or behavioral issues, etc.
-Assist with academic support of at-risk student-athletes
-Maintain AEP forms (intervention spreadsheet, time sheets, check in forms, computer logs, etc.)
-Communicate with supervisor and coaches frequently in reference to the academic performance of their student-athletes, behavioral or academic issues, overall progress concerns, etc.
-Daily operations of Academic Enhancement Program including maintenance of computer lab and study rooms, monitoring study hall sessions, assigning penalty points, and other duties as assigned

2.) Daily Operations of Compliance Office: the following duties are customary for this position but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and instructional needs.
-Assist with the monitoring of academic, amateurism, rules of the NCAA, Southern Conference, and Western Carolina University
-Provide education and interpretation of NCAA rules, policies and regulations for students, coaches, athletic staff and representatives of athletic interests
-Monitor, audit, and review compliance forms, policies and procedures
-Monitor official visits, ticket requests, phone logs and contacts/evaluations
-Monitor new NCAA legislation
-Monitor policies and procedures of camps and clinics
-Assist with reporting information required by NCAA and the Southern Conference
-Assist with amateurism/agent oversight
-Assist with the preparation of NCAA squad list, national letters of intent and financial aid agreements
-Special projects as assigned by the Director of Compliance

3.) Overall Operations of SAASS Department
-Assist in creation of the At-Risk Assessment
-Coordinate student worker staff training and management
-Create AEP study hall schedules for individual student-athletes
-Communicate with Writing and Learning Commons, Career Services, Disability Services, and other on-campus offices in order to facilitate guest speakers, joint workshops, etc.
-Responsible for creating, planning, and implementing academic workshops during each semester
-Assist with academic summary reports and explanations at the conclusion of each semester
-Assist the Director of Academic Support, Director of Compliance, and Associate AD for Student Support Services/SWA as needed
-Other responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

-Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends
-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Preferred Qualifications:

-Master’s degree from an accredited institution
-Previous experience working with students and/or student-athletes in an academic capacity
-Previous experience with NCAA and Eligibility Center
-Knowledge of social networking
-Must be able to use Microsoft Office Suite
