The Coastal Carolina University Football program is seeking highly motivated candidates for the position of Nutritionist, Football.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field with related experience is required. Registered Dietitian; completion of a didactic program in dietetics; supervised practice program approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics; and completion of or working towards a Board Certification for Specialist in Sports Dietetics are required. A master’s degree; significant work experience as a Registered Dietitian; previous employment in intercollegiate or professional athletics; previous experience working with collegiate or professional football and a member of the Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association are preferred.
Duties include, but are not limited to: manage and coordinate team travel nutritional needs; travel with team when needed; provide communication regarding sports nutrition related issues; counsel football student-athletes on optimal nutrition practices for athletic performance; administer nutrition screenings; manage the football fueling station, including ordering, inventory and procurement of food products and supplies; manage football meal responsibilities for all team activities; manage football conditioning recovery responsibilities; participate in nutrition and performance committee, sports science and performance meetings; and perform other duties as assigned by the Chairmen of Athletics or Head Football Coach.
