The University of Colorado Denver l Anschutz Medical Campus seeks individuals with demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive learning and working environment.  We value the ability to engage effectively with students, faculty and staff of diverse backgrounds.

Job Summary:

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus School of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is seeking a full-time Pediatric Academic Physiatrist at the Instructor level. This position will be split 50% clinical (the candidate will provide medical services in both inpatient and outpatient environments) and 50% research, participating in the SCORE Fellowship.

The Surgical/Subspecialist Clinical Outcomes Research (SCORE) Fellowship is aimed at early career investigators looking to obtain training and mentorship in clinical-outcomes research from all CU-AMC Schools and Colleges.  All participants must guarantee 50% protected time for research and Monday afternoon didactics and weekly work-in-progress sessions, as well as pay program tuition fees.

The SCORE Fellowship is housed within the Adult and Child Consortium for Health Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS).  The fellowship is designed to train outstanding physician researchers in clinical translational and outcomes research, focusing on surgeons and subspecialists interested in research training. The primary goal of the two-year training program is to provide existing or new faculty with the building blocks to conduct clinical translational or outcomes research and, in the future, to be successful in obtaining extramural funding. The SCORE Fellowship is designed for junior and mid-career faculty looking to obtain training in clinical outcomes research.  It consists of didactic work, mentoring of research projects, and an intensive grant writing course for second year fellows with the goal of a completed grant (e.g., K award) for submission.  Additional components of the program include biostatistical and analytical support for projects, a career development curriculum, and access to additional mentoring resources. The fellowship requires a commitment of at least 50% protected time, support from the applicants Division/Department and availability on Monday afternoons for didactic lectures, courses and work-in-progress (WIP) sessions. The program also encourages candidates to complete coursework through the Graduate School and the Colorado School of Public Health if they do not already have an advanced research degree.

The program is led by a multidisciplinary team of established researchers. Each fellow is assigned a primary fellowship mentor and encouraged to identify a mentorship team from the research faculty at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the Colorado School of Public Health.

Other duties in this faculty position include clinical responsibilities such as actively participating in continued growth of the department at the Children’s Hospital Colorado.  Teaching responsibilities include participating in the education of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residents, fellows, medical students, and physical therapy students.
