Department Summary:

The Educator Preparation Program at UNT is committed to preparing future teachers in progressively field-based learning environments. Teacher candidate preparation culminates with a 2-3 semester Professional Development Sequence (PDS). Candidates are grouped in cadres that are specific to one of UNT’s partner school districts. The last PDS semester is the supervised clinical teaching semester.

The College of Education Clinical Practice Office supports this goal through cadre partnerships with district school teachers and administrators to provide field-based preparation opportunities for both undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students seeking initial teacher certification.

Position Summary:

The Educator Preparation Office seeks qualified individuals for the position of Adjunct Assistant Instructor-Clinical Field Experiences Cadre Coordinator for the 2021-2022 academic year with a starting date of Fall 2021.

The Clinical Field Experiences Cadre Coordinator acts as a liaison between a specific PDS public school district and the COE Clinical Practice Director. Responsibilities may include assisting with weekly clinical student seminars, field supervisor training, cooperating teacher orientation to the preparation program, campus administrator orientation to the UNT COE educator preparation programs, observation of teacher candidates, and documentation related to courses within the preparation sequence.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree or higher in an appropriate education field.
Experience supervising teacher candidates in the state of Texas;
Minimum three years of successful classroom teaching experience in any grade/s EC-12;
A working user skill base (or ability to quickly learn and independently use following training) online communication, productivity, and learning management applications such as Microsoft Word and and email, Canvas, etc. which are used for submission, review of assessments, and records retention;
Must be willing to renew or currently hold a valid TX teaching certificate.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous teaching or administrative experience in a UNT PDS partner district.

Required License / Registration / Certification:

Texas Educator Certificate

Varied depending on number of teacher candidates and by nature of the responsibilities of the job.
