Job Description:


  • Teach 10 - 12 credit hours each semester as assigned by chair/director or dean.

  • Advise students in the program as assigned by the chair/director and/or dean.

  • Engage in scholarly activities appropriate to one's discipline, teaching responsibilities, and other academic responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical education site visits as assigned by chair/director

  • Participate, in accordance with departmental and college need, in the ongoing and continuous implementation of assessment of student learning outcomes and academic program improvement activities in the areas of General Education and the academic major; attend the AIC assessment workshops

  • Engage in service to the department, School, and College through committee membership.

  • Attends required convocations, meetings, commencement, academic awards ceremonies, and workshops and be available to participate in activities that promote the College in a positive manner both on and off campus.

  • Assists with Student Success and Admissions functions as they relate to departmental programs.

  • Participate in professional development activities related to one's faculty role.

  • Engage and interact with students in positive ways, such as by guiding student research projects, by serving as the advisor to student clubs and organizations, or by mentoring students in other scholarly activities

  • Attend scheduled general faculty, school faculty, and departmental faculty meetings; attend Town meetings and Faculty Assembly meetings

  • Maintain a minimum of four scheduled office hours weekly to meet student needs and be available to meet with students at other times as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned by chair/director or dean.



Requirements:


  • Required Degree(s): Entry level degree in PT (DPT) with DPT or doctorate in related field.

  • Preferred Degree(s): Academic doctorate (e.g. PhD, EdD, ScD); ABD candidates will be considered.

  • Required Field of Expertise: At least 1-2 years of teaching experience at a college or university setting

  • Preferred Field of Expertise: Clinical expertise in neuromuscular physical therapy, gait, orthotics and prosthetics. Prefer a candidate with a neuro specialty.

  • Required Training/Cert: At least five years of clinical experience

  • Required Licensure(s): Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a physical therapist in the State of Massachusetts


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


  • Strong commitment to high quality instruction in a diverse, student-centered environment and the ability to work with students with various learning styles and backgrounds

  • Interest in active and collaborative learning and enthusiasm for working in an interprofessional setting

  • Ability to foster a collaborative atmosphere among students, faculty, and staff

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Blackboard, and the use of instructional technology to teach traditional, hybrid or online courses as needed and serve as a resource for faculty using these tools.

  • Enthusiastic, committed teacher-scholar with demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship

Work Schedule


This is a full time, exempt level, benefit eligible position that will begin at the start of the Fall 2021 semester. Hours of work are determined based on the needs of the department and are flexible to the needs of the department. Occasional weekend event work required.
