The Position:
San Diego College of Continuing Education (SDCCE), one of the largest noncredit institutions in the California Community College System, was founded in 1914 on inclusion and social justice principles. Students come from across 159 countries and find a positive learning environment for every skill level at SDCCE.
Applications are now being accepted for Dean of Child Development and Emeritus Programs at San Diego College of Continuing Education (SDCCE). Under the SDCCE Vice President of Instruction, the Dean is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, evaluating, and managing the noncredit Child Development and Emeritus Programs at all SDCCE campuses and off-site locations. This includes advocating for all SDCCE programs, collaborating with program chairs, coordinating class schedules and faculty teaching assignments, curriculum development, staff development, and budget and strategic planning. The Dean develops and maintains community and industry relationships relevant to their programs [Child Development is a CTE program]. They participate in SDCCE's governance and decision making. The incumbent also serves as the resident Dean for the CE Mesa Campus, located on the Mesa College Campus in Linda Vista, San Diego.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
In compliance with policies adopted by the Board of Trustees, applicants for
this position must show evidence of the following minimum qualifications:
1. Possession of a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited
institution; AND,
2. One (1) year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience
reasonably related to the administrator’s assignment.
Desired Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have established the highest level of professional competence evidenced by a combination of education, training, and/or experience related to Child Development/Emeritus or similar instructional programs, and campus management which clearly demonstrates the following:

Pay Information:
Range 18 ($9,033.99 - $14,485.37) per month based on the current Management Salary Schedule.
Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. The District offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental, and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the Management Employees Handbook. This position is FLSA Exempt and may not accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment. The San Diego Community College District serves 130,000 students annually through three two-year colleges and six Continuing Education campuses. The three colleges, San Diego City, Mesa, and Miramar colleges, offer associate degrees and certificates in occupational programs that prepare students for entry-level jobs, and arts and sciences programs that transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Continuing Education offers adults the opportunity to renew their learning experiences through noncredit vocational, basic skills, life skills and enrichment classes at sites throughout the city. The District also provides education to over 42,000 service personnel at military bases in 15 states.

A number of special programs are unique to the city, including KSDS-FM all-jazz radio, the Center for Competitive and Applied Technologies, and the Workplace Learning Resource Center.
The San Diego Community College District is governed by its five-member, locally elected Board of Trustees and three student members serving on a rotating basis. Shared governance activities involve faculty, students, and staff in the development of solutions to key policy and budget issues. The five trustees are elected in even-numbered years to four-year terms by the voters of San Diego. The Chancellor, the District's chief executive officer, is responsible for carrying out the policies approved by the Board of Trustees.
The District is in the midst of $1.555 billion in new construction and renovations at the three colleges and Continuing Education campuses throughout the city.
