Job Details

The St. Norbert College Faculty Diversity Postdoc Fellowship program is intended for early-career scholars from under-represented groups seeking careers at liberal arts colleges. The postdoc is open to scholars in all disciplines who have completed a terminal degree (PhD; MFA; JD; EdD; MD) in the past two years. Fellows will spend the majority of their time teaching undergraduate students. Fellows will receive support to develop new courses and curricular projects, and will participate in the first-year seminar program. Research or teaching that engages with equity, diversity, inclusion or justice will receive priority. The program is intended to foster the growth of Fellows’ pedagogy and scholarship in a teaching-focused environment, with hands-on experience and support from a variety of mentors. Fellows will have the opportunity to work with the Cassandra Voss Center (www.snc.edu/cvc/), a nationally recognized center for examining identity & inclusion, connecting theory, research, experiential learning, and co-curricular development for students and the greater community.

Building a diverse faculty is central to the mission of St. Norbert College. St. Norbert College welcomes applications from members of all backgrounds and faith traditions. The College’s mission emphasizes the Norbertine vision of community and includes providing “an educational environment that fosters intellectual, spiritual, and personal development.” We seek those who will contribute to our mission and support our commitment to building a vibrant, diverse, and spiritually engaged community. Candidates are encouraged to visit our website (www.snc.edu) to learn more about the College its mission (www.snc.edu/mission/statement.html) and our anti-racism action plan (www.snc.edu/antiracism/actionplan.html).

Fellows are appointed for two years with the possibility of a third year. Each fellow will teach two courses per semester and participate in the first-year experience.

St. Norbert College is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to enhancing the diversity of our people, ideas and talents. We welcome individuals with diverse experiences, backgrounds, and skills to join our college community in our pursuit of inclusion and excellence. Applications from members of underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged (https://www.snc.edu/diversityaffairs/).
