The School of Business and Public Management of the College of Coastal Georgia is seeking applications for a faculty position in Health Informatics. The selected candidate will teach courses offered in the Bachelor of Science in Health Informatics and Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Health Care Administration. This is a non-tenure-track 10-month position for 1 year.

Essential Duties:

The successful candidate will teach 15 hours per semester, advise students, maintain a portfolio of scholarship, and work within faculty governance. Several components of the College’s strategic plan are built around extensive student engagement. A commitment to service learning and internships are within the responsibilities associated with the position.

Minimum Qualifications and Training:

A Master’s degree focused in information technology, health information management, health care administration, or a health-related discipline is required. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both information technology and the healthcare environment.

Prior online teaching experience is desired.

At lease one AHIMA credential Preferred. (RHIA, RHIT, CCA, CCS, CHDA, CHPS, CPHI, CDIP, CHTS).

Preferred Qualifications and Training:

A PhD is preferred. Additional credentials strongly favored (ie CPM,CPHIMS, CIS, CHFP, CSAF, CRCR, etc)

Prior teaching experience or professional level and background in health informatics, health information management or health information technology is desired.
