Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:

Under general supervision supports continuing first time freshman students who have less than 30 credit hours in attaining sophomore (30 credits) status. And, supports the transition of first year students to their second year. Coordinates and implements the continuing freshman Pathway to 30 Program, which is inclusive of: Intrusive advising, Assessment and Reporting, Programming, Student ambassadors and Training in support of Fall to Fall persistence, Freshman to Sophomore progression. Ensures that Records and Registration and Financial Aid processes for the campus function smoothly, while providing leadership and direction to staff. Guides and assists students, staff, faculty, the administration and the public in the workings and policies of the college.

Essential Duties Summary:

●Provides direct oversight to student success coordinators and student staff who work in support of the Pathway to 30 Program.
●Ensures that assessment procedures are clear and regularly updated and reported. Works with department head to align assessment objectives to departmental and institutional goals.
●Ensures the implementation of assessment and reporting arrangements at the end of key stages including pre, mid and end-of-semester reporting, enrollment reporting, and other reports that assist SASS in clarifying student progress and needs for support.
●Acts as a consultant to their staff on enrollment, assessment issues, and departmental technology (Namely TCLAW).
●Communicates to the Executive Director opportunities for growth in the Pathway to 30 Continuing Freshman Program. This includes but is not limited to enrollment, improving work-processes, programming, assessment, training, TCLAW, technology implementation, and making research-based suggestions for policy and departmental changes that negatively impact the progression and persistence of continuing freshmen.
●Provides leadership and accountability to the freshman success coordinators and student staff in the performance of registration, enrollment, and related processes for continuing freshman students. Responsible for communicating clear expectations to coordinators, coordinator needs to the executive director, and ensuring that all coordinators can be successful.
●Provides leadership within the Pathway to 30 Program through reinforcing departmental expectations, managing the formal communication flow to the executive director regarding program needs, and motivating fellow staff to meet specific directives.
●Represents the advising unit at all management and institutional level meetings with the Lead Enrollment and Completion Advisor.
●Assists in formulating procedures and making decisions involving student success and the First Year Experience program at TSU.
●Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range:

$48,273.00 - $60,341.00

Education:

Master’s Degree (M.A. or M.S.) from four-year College or university or equivalent. Proof of enrollment in a master’s degree Program may suffice.

Knowledge of:

Work Experience:

Two (2) to three (3) years of experience or equivalent in student services or a related field. Requires experience in advising and enrollment, specifically.

Instructional experience preferred.
Leadership experience preferred.

Has worked within an Admissions, Financial Aid, or Enrollment capacity with oversight for others preferred.

Working/Environmental Conditions:

●Routine office environment.
●Sitting or standing in one location much of the time.
●Some stooping, lifting or carrying objects light weight may be required.
●Use of video display terminal.
