Salary Information:

HIRING RANGE: $19.75-$21.01 per hour based on experience.
Pay Grade: 08

Job Summary:

Greet and assist prospective and current students, staff, visitors and the general public by disseminating information concerning educational offerings, college policies and procedures, DMACC webpage navigation, events and activities.

Essential Functions:

Receive and transfer calls received through the college switchboard. Update message lines as needed and act as liaison between DMACC and the Vital Support phone system.

Provide and distribute general college information, college procedures and policies, events etc. to students, staff, and general public in person, on the telephone and by mail and email.

Maintain calendars for the Ankeny counseling/advising staff; input data for department reports and communication plan.

Print, process and mail requests for information, coordinate college wide mailings and maintain reports.

Coordinate the distribution of information which includes: college brochures, college planners, college telephone directories, and any other requests. Provide support for “Ask a Question” button on the college home page.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Two years of general office experience which included or was supplemented by significant public contact and telephone work. (Postsecondary education may substitute for up to 1 year of the required experience with 15 semester hours equivalent to 6 months of experience.)

Effective customer service skills.

Strong communication skills.

Ability to plan, organize and manage time.

Excellent problem solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from diverse backgrounds.

Knowledge of current software applications.

Desired Qualifications:

Work experience in a postsecondary institution.

Experience and commitment to working with diverse populations.

Ability to speak a language in addition to English.
