Position Summary:

UCI Law’s Office of Admissions and Student Financial Services oversees the annual recruitment, selection, scholarship awarding, and matriculation into UCI Law’s full-time JD program. Annually, it receives 3000+ applications for an incoming JD class consisting of 160 seats.

The Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions plays an important role within the Admissions and Aid team. Reads one quarter of the applicant pool and makes first recommendations on the files they read. Represents UCI Law at various recruitment or assists the team in the execution of our yield campaign. The position reports directly to the Director of Admissions and collaborates with their teammates and other community partners. $50,600.00 - $63,850.00

Required:

B.A. or B.S. degree required with 4-5 years relevant experience required.

Ability to interpret and communicate University policies and procedures to prospective students and the public.

Ability to develop recruitment programs, and design effective materials.

Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs, at colleges / universities and specifically at UC, and / or specific colleges and schools.

Proficiency using various databases (ACES2/UNITE), CRM platforms, or email marketing software.

Detail-oriented, possess strong speaking and writing skills, able to manage complicated projects, and analyze data. Demonstrate an exemplary work ethic, a strong sense of initiative, discretion, sensitivity, and excellent judgment.

Ability to travel to recruitment events for up to 14 days at a time. Valid driver's license required.

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations, and other institutions.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, changing environment and remain level headed.

Ability to work weekends and evenings, as needed.

Ability to work independently and under pressure, to function effectively in a team and service-oriented environment.

Advanced knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.

Advanced cultural competency with an ongoing commitment to growth in the changing language of diversity.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong organizational skills, including high attention to detail.

Preferred:

J.D. or MA/MS preferred since this is a graduate admissions program.

Previous law school or graduate school admissions experience strongly preferred. Extensive experience in database management, particularly ACES2/UNITE strongly preferred.

Special Conditions Required:

This position may start off remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but once campus reopens, will be required to come to the office since Admissions is a student facing department. This position involves considerable travel during the law school recruiting season. A successful candidate must demonstrate willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends.
