Advertised Job Summary:

Manages, directs and leads the Miscellaneous Accounts Receivable and Billing accounting to include managing invoicing, collection, and receipting activities for the Controller’s Office for all campuses. Manage the miscellaneous invoicing process and ensure timeliness and accuracy of invoicing. Manage the Miscellaneous Accounts Receivable month end close process and AR aging to include weekly and monthly aged balances and collection status reports. Manage the training and technical assistance for all campuses and work with year end audit processes and reviews.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

Master’s degree in business related field with multiple accounting courses and 6 years experience directing professional accounting services, or bachelor’s degree and 8 years experience directing accounting services.

Preferred Qualifications:

•CPA of CGFO preferred.
•PeopleSoft or other ERP Experience preferred.
•Higher Education experience preferred.
•Accounts Receivable and Invoicing experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

An extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles for higher education. Thorough knowledge of state and federal statutes and regulations pertaining to higher education financial management and ability to analyze and interpret. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of university, state, federal and other external personnel.

•Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and terminology of accounting, budgeting, financial management or investment.
•Knowledge of grants and contracts.
•Knowledge of accounts receivable and billing processes.
•Knowledge of state government fiscal accounting processes.
•Knowledge of financial statement analysis.
•Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data and reports.
•Ability to plan, organizes, review and supervise the work of subordinates.
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
•Ability to communicate effectively.
