Business Intelligence Programmer

The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc. is seeking a business intelligence programmer. The BI programmer creates and maintain computer programs, documentation, and operating instructions. Additionally, the programmer performs leadership responsibilities in the development of reusable programming solutions, participates in the systems design process, and frequently assumes responsibility for project maintenance, major modifications, or development of systems.

 Reporting to the director of business intelligence, the BI programmer will focus application development, systems integration, enhancement and maintenance.  Duties may include but are not limited to the following: Review needs and requests to develop proposed solutions; design, develop, test, refine and implement software to supplement and integrate with current applications; provide technical assistance for programs and trains end users. Must keep up to date on emerging technologies. The programmer will document guidelines, policies and procedures, encourage compliance and continually communicate, collaborate, validate data and assess data needs and services of UTFI.



Qualifications
Required Qualifications/Experience:   A bachelor degree and three years of experience is required. Experience must include:

  • Enterprise-level application development
  • Programming with fluency in procedural, object-oriented, and functional programming concepts
  • Experience in at least two of the following using SQL, PL/SQL, ASP.NET, JavaScript, XML, C/C++, C#
  • CRM databases with focus on data management, complex relational database structures and systems analysis
  • Proficiency of Web Services protocol such as REST, SOAP and API design for extensibility and portability
  • Applications programmer on large-scale data base management systems and experience writing software
Desired Qualifications:

    Knowledge of middleware systems including LDAP, CAS security, and user authorization systems
  • Experience with Ellucian Advance or other Fundraising software
  • Experience with a University Enterprise Information System (Payroll, Student, Alumni, etc) Understanding of Institutional AdvancementProficiency in MS Windows OS and Office 365

This position is part of the central services team in support of advancement staff on five campuses/institutes for the UT Foundation.  The Foundation is an interdependent nonprofit corporation that enriches the lives of the students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the University of Tennessee through alumni engagement, financial stewardship and private investments.
