Description
The assistant director of creative communications is the primary graphic designer for the UT System. The position plays a key role in promoting
the mission and statewide impact of the UT System through highly visible and impactful designs, marketing materials, and brand
executions ranging from logos to multi-page brochures to billboards. This position is responsible for determining the creative direction and adherence to brand guidelines of all design work created on behalf of the Office of the President, Board of Trustees, and all divisions within the UT System Administration.

Additionally, the associate director will support a culture of engagement and belonging by treating others with dignity and respect at all times and by exhibiting conduct that reflects a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The successful candidate will respectfully communicate and cooperate with all employees and will complete all required diversity awareness training to enhance knowledge and eradicate racism in the workplace.



Qualifications
Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and at least five years of graphic design experience required. Broad experience base including agency work and branding initiatives is preferred. 

The successful candidate must have in-depth knowledge of professional communications, graphic design, advertising, and marketing. Additional required qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of project management and the inherent protocol of how to assign projects and manage resources
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry-standard software
  • Broad knowledge of competitors and industry
  • Extensive software skills in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, and technical troubleshooting
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly skilled in creative concepts, big picture branding
  • Extensive skills in organization, planning, execution of projects, and utilization of resources
  • Skilled at balancing a robust workload and managing concurrent priorities and deadlines
Preferred skills include the following:

  • Ability to conceptualize, execute, and maintain a brand package that enhances the visual reputation of the University
  • Ability to edit WordPress sites and pages
  • Ability to offer guidance, support, and leadership
  • Knowledge of visual standards in photography, video, and current design and marketing trends
  • Knowledge of best practices for project organization, process, and client communications
