The University of Tennessee Foundation, Office of Advancement is seeking a Talent and Diversity Manager on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus. Reporting to the Executive Director of Advancement Operations, the Talent and Diversity Manager develops new programs and supports current activities in the area of Talent Management related to diversity, job searches, career mapping, recruitment, onboarding, and utilizing student interns for the Office of Advancement. The goal is to enhance our efforts in these areas to maximize our ability to hire and retain a talented workforce. Additionally, this position will serve as the division’s main liaison with the Office of Diversity and Engagement in regards to diversity related initiatives. They will ensure that we are focused on executing our current diversity action plan and work to enhance our current culture where everyone matters and belongs. This position will help us maintain a focus on increasing our diversity population among our staff at all levels. Two new programs will be developed and implemented by this position. First, this position will build an extended onboarding program that complements our current program administered by UTFI. Second, this position will build an intern program that will help us better utilize current students to help us meet our division wide goals. Also, we aim to develop a better overall, cohort type of program that interns will see as an attractive option on campus.

The Foundation is an interdependent nonprofit corporation that enriches the lives of the students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the University of Tennessee through alumni engagement, financial stewardship and private investments.

At the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, the Foundation provides engagement opportunities for alumni through networking and community events, and works hand-in-hand with the campus on their priorities to improve undergraduate and graduate education for more than 30,500 students and support for faculty and staff with over 900 programs of study.

The UT Knoxville Advancement team aspires to be a key driver in UT’s vision to be a top public research university, produce at the level of a top 5 SEC fundraising program, and create a culture across campus that appreciates philanthropy and volunteerism.

Required Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree with 4+ years in human resources and/or diversity related work are required. The Ideal candidate must have experience developing new programs from concept to creation, then execution. Attention to detail, excellent customer service, teamwork, creativity, innovation, and strong oral and written communication skills are required. The ideal candidate will be highly supportive of and committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous work experience in recruiting candidates by using various sources though social media networks, employee referrals, in-person networking, and conference attendance. Previous work experience in managing a diversity action plan or initiatives, as well as experience in developing and managing new employee onboarding and internship programs are preferred.
