Job Description

Kansas City Athletics is seeking an experienced individual to be the Assistant Coach (Pitching) for the Softball Program. KC Athletics is Kansas City’s only Division I team and consist of 14 sport programs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Specializing in the development and oversight of the pitching staffAssisting in the organization and implementation of regular practice sessions, competitions, fundraising and community service projects.Acting as supervisor/head coach representative in the absence of the head coach.Developing and teaching strategies for motivating student-athletes to perform at maximum levels as both individuals and a team, while promoting the academic and athletic development of the student-athletes.Responsible for assisting with the oversight of the maintenance of the softball field and upkeep of the equipment.Assisting in all aspects of the recruitment process from inception to completion including: the development of recruitment plans, targeting potential student-athletes for recruitment purposes, and making recommendations.Assisting with coordination and implementation of travel arrangements.Assisting with Softball budget managementAnd other duties assigned by the head coach.Responsible for complying with the policies and guidelines established by the NCAA, The Summit League, University and Athletics Department for conducting a varsity sport.
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Two to three years of intercollegiate softball coaching experience preferred. Recruiting ability preferred. Must be able to follow the requirements of the NCAA, the Summit League, and the mission of UMKC. Must be able to communicate effectively and foster positive relations with prospective and enrolled student-athletes, fellow coaches, Athletics Department and university administration and the general public; and have a clear understanding of the role of athletics within the university community.

$40,000 - $50,000 annual
