Position Summary:

The HR enterprise is comprised of three unique business units: Health, Health Sciences, and main campus. The Partnership serves as a strategic center responsible for planning and implementing strategic initiatives across the entire UCI HR enterprise. UCI Health Human Resources is committed to driving culture to deliver excellence in patient care through people, partnerships, and performance.

The Senior HR Business Partner (SrHRBP) in UCI Health provides strategic advisement and consultation to assigned clients, leveraging, and integrating knowledge of modern professional HR practice, the regulatory environment, and labor and employment law. The SrHRBP is the first point of contact for the client, working to identify and broker HR solutions with clients while appropriately utilizing the resources of subject matter experts within the department. Recognized functional expert who regularly leads human resources projects of criticality to organization. The SrHRBP utilizes comprehensive and in-depth human resources expertise to provide guidance and recommendations regarding strategic direction to the organization and its leaders. Works on human resources matters that are the most diverse and complex in scope where analysis of data and situations requires evaluation of many factors and implications with broad impact on the organization. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and functions as a lead with other human resources professionals. Is considered a subject matter expert in the organization.

Required:

Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources.

Bachelor's degree in related area to Human Resources and/or equivalent experience/training.

Highly developed analytical, active listening and critical thinking skills.

Demonstrated ability to handle the most difficult or volatile situations/individuals effectively.

Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to present complex information.

Possesses expert analytical skills to provide strategic direction for HR practices and procedures, conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.

Expert knowledge of employment practices, labor relations, salary administration, training, and other areas of human resources as well as organization initiatives relating to and/or affecting human resources.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Demonstrated ability to establish credibility, trust, and influence with senior leaders.

Demonstrated experience in group presentation and facilitation.

Demonstrated expert knowledge of organizational policies and procedures; advanced knowledge of functional area and understands how work affects other areas in Human Resources and the organization.

Preferred:

Strategic HR Business Partner Certification SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certification PHR or SPHR Certification preferred.

Experience working in a complex healthcare or service organization.

Computer literacy, to include experience with HRIS enterprise systems.

Previous experience working with labor unions.

Experience in at least one HR specialty function such as Labor Relations, Employee Relations, Learning, Recruitment, etc.

This position may be required to report at different work sites between the campus in Irvine and medical center in Orange. The incumbent must be able to provide their own means of transportation to/from work locations
