Department Summary:

The Student Money Management Center streamlines all money management education services under the oversight of one dedicated office. The center serves as a single-point entry to eliminate frustrations and confusion among students seeking support, counsel, and advice regarding their personal financial situations. The center’s three primary programs are: Financial Readiness Program (outreach and marketing); Financial Wellness Program (coaching and assessment); and Financial Support Program (customer service and emergency assistance).

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for providing more complex administrative support and customer oriented services to the department. Coordinates activities and acts as departmental liaison handling issues that are sensitive and confidential. Identifies and recommends improvements for administrative procedures, as necessary assignments vary from routine to complex in nature and require some latitude and problem solving and interpretation of departmental and university guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field and one year of professional related experience in
coordinating or administering higher education programming or related field; or any
equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to prioritize multiple ongoing responsibilities.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: * Knowledge of higher education funding resources. * Experience supervising hourly employees. * Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. * Experience in working in a diverse work environment. * Experience serving multiple roles on a team.

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT.
Provides administrative support to the department while being a resource to team members to assist with the resolution of various administrative matters. Directly responsible for travel, purchasing, time and labor for the department. Orders and receives supplies and manages departmental inventory. Handles team calendar, scheduling system, and correspondence. Handles a variety of logistics including room scheduling, special events, catering orders, and timely delivery of materials to team members. Orders and receives supplies and manages departmental inventory. Responds independently and routes inquiries and correspodance within the department. Identifies and recommends improvements for administrative processes and procedures.

o:

TEAM LEAD.
Manages day-to-day operations of the department’s emergency assistance program. Conducts loan application eligibility interviews. Serves as team lead for the department’s EAP team and oversees training, work assignments, and professional development of assigned student employee(s). Assists Financial Wellness Program by facilitating coaching sessions with students.

o:

REPORTING.
Manages daily reporting requirements for the department’s emergency assistance program. Responsible for assisting director with tracking, reporting, and forecasting of departmental budgets. Assists with the collection of assessment data and the preparation of materials for meetings and conferences.

o:

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.
Attains and maintains professional certification. Stays abreast of current trends in collegiate financial literacy/wellness education and topics relevant to the personal financial lives of students. Submits proposals for any professional development program/conference/symposium to be attended.

o:

UNIVERSITY ENGAGEMENT.
Serves as departmental representative on planning teams and committees without detriment to primary duties. With director’s approval, represents the director and department upon request. Consciously creates a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall department’s and that emphasizes the identified mission, vision, guiding principles, diveristy, and values of the institution. Other duties as assigned.
